The Standard, Brussels
The Belgian capital welcomes its new cultural playground

The Standard, Brussel's, the latest from the global hotel brand, has finally opened its doors in a refurbished tower of the Belgian capital's World Trade Center.
Transforming the municipal building into the kind of cool you've come to expect from the hotel group, The Standard, Brussels embodies all that the city is today - with nods to the worlds of music, fashion, contemporary art and architecture across 28 floors and 200 rooms. There's also hints of 1970s American and postmodern Japanese design - a striking blend of global cultures and ideas.
An opening like this deserves a celebration - and the party didn't disappoint. With DJ sets from legendary selector Honey Dijon and Brussels' own Lefto stretching into the early hours at hotel's lush Greenhouse, The Standard announced itself as the capital's newest cultural playground.
Musically, this was a fun, inspiring project for Playlister - like all other collections we create in collaboration with The Standard. Here, we focused on curating intimate, glitchy and spaced out electronic sounds, creating a collection that feels innovative and unlike anywhere else.
